Filtaurio — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
Filtaurio is a local-first app that tracks the filters in your home. We do not run our own servers, do not show ads, and do not sell or share your data.
What the app processes, and where it goes
- Your equipment and filters (appliance, brand, model, room, filter role, size, class, dates, prices, service history) are stored only on your device, in a database the app owns.
- Your home profile (floor area, rooms, occupants, pets, smoking, run hours) is used to adjust service intervals and stays on the device.
- Barcodes you scan are matched locally against filters you already track.
- Photo scanning is optional and requires an API key you supply for an AI provider of your choice. When you press scan, that one photo is sent to that provider under your own account, to read the label. We never see it, and no other data about your equipment is included.
- Backup is optional. Export writes a
.ftbakfile you control. If you turn on Google backup, the same file is written to the hidden, app-specific folder of your own Google Drive using thedrive.appdatascope — a folder no other app, and no person but you, can read. We have no access to it. Credentials for that sign-in are held in the device's secure storage. - Notifications are scheduled locally by the operating system. Nothing about them leaves the device.
- Diagnostics stay in the in-app activity log on the device. There is no crash reporting.
- Usage analytics are off until you turn them on, in Settings. With them on, the app sends Firebase Analytics a short, fixed list of events — that a screen was opened, that the paywall was reached, which kind of equipment was added, that a scan ran — never a name you typed, never a photograph, never where you live. The record is tied to an installation of the app, not to you: we run no accounts, so there is nobody for it to be tied to. Switching it back off in Settings also erases the identifier Firebase was using.
What we do not do
No accounts with us. No advertising identifiers. No profiling. No sale or sharing of personal data. No analytics at all unless you switch them on, and nothing in them that identifies you or your home.
Google user data
Filtaurio's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the
Google API Services User
Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The only scope requested is
drive.appdata, used solely to store and restore your backup file. You can revoke access
at any time in your Google Account settings, and delete the backup from inside the app.
Your data, your call
Everything is on your device: deleting the app deletes it. Export gives you a copy in an open format. Restoring merges rather than overwrites, so nothing you added on a new phone is lost.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects nothing about them.
